  1. LUNAR-NT for Windows - Screen Manager
  2.  
  3. LUNAR-NT has been produced to enable you to enlarge the screen of a Microsoft
  4. Windows application up to eight times, its normal size.  LUNAR-NT incorporates
  5. the following features:
  6.  
  7. *   Choice of Magnification
  8.  
  9. 1x, 2x, 4x, 6x, and 8x magnification, selectable from hot keys.
  10.  
  11. *   Automatic Following of the Mouse Pointer
  12.  
  13. LUNAR-NT can automatically follow the mouse pointer, with selectable scroll
  14. margins and scroll speeds.
  15.  
  16. *   Automatic Following of Menus and Dialog Boxes
  17.  
  18. LUNAR-NT can automatically follow all windows, Dialog boxes, controls within
  19. Dialog boxes, pop-up and pull-down menus.  It can also optionally centre on
  20. the LUNAR-NT screen any menu or Dialog box that appears.  This automatic
  21. tracking feature draws your attention immediately to any menu or Dialog box
  22. that appears.

  24. *   Automatic Following of Text Entry Cursors
  25.  
  26. LUNAR-NT can automatically follow the text entry cursors, such as those found
  27. in Word for Windows,  Notepad, and Write.
  28.  
  29. *   Automatic Following of the Keyboard Focus
  30.  
  31. LUNAR-NT can automatically move the mouse pointer (and therefore the display)
  32. to the current keyboard focus, selectable with a hot key.
  33.  
  34. *   Overview facility
  35.  
  36. LUNAR-NT has an overview facility, so that you can see where you are on the
  37. 'real' screen and view the layout.  (Selectable with a hot key.)
  38.  
  39. *   Help facility
  40.  
  41. LUNAR-NT has a context-sensitive on-line help facility.
  42.  
  43. *   User-definable hot keys
  44.  
  45. All hot keys are user-definable, to avoid key clashes with other Windows
  46. applications.

  48. *   User-definable Mouse Pointer colour
  49.  
  50. You can change the mouse pointer to a colour of your choice, independent of the
  51. application running.
  52.  
  53. *   If you run a DOS application in a Window, LUNAR-NT will follow the
  54.     applications DOS cursor!

  56. *   Automatic Application Configuration
  57.  
  58. All these features allow you to tailor LUNAR-NT for efficient and
  59. 'intelligent' presentation of information.  Once such customisation has been
  60. created for a particular application, these settings can be saved and reloaded
  61. automatically every time that application is started.  This is a powerful
  62. feature of LUNAR-NT, because you can go on to create configuration files for
  63. all your Windows applications, and have them automatically load when you
  64. start your Windows application!

  88. LUNAR-NT for Windows   -   Demonstration Disk Notes
  89.  
  90. How to use this disk:
  91.  
  92. Your LUNAR-NT demonstration disk contains a version of LUNAR-NT for
  93. Windows which can be used for 10 minutes at a time. (It can be run up to
  94. six times.)
  95.  
  96.  
  97. To run the demonstration program:
  98.  
  99. *       Insert your demo disk into drive A:.
  100.  
  101. *       Type in the seven letters INSTALL, and press the <ENTER> key.
  102.  
  103. INSTALL will rename your Windows display driver to ORIG.DRV, and install
  104. LUNAR-NT's own Windows display driver VGA.DRV in its place.  (LUNAR-NT for
  105. Windows only works in the standard Windows VGA 640x480x16 colour mode.)
  106.  
  107. *       Start Microsoft Windows in the usual manner.  i.e. type WIN and
  108.         press <ENTER>.
  109.  
  110. *       From the Program Manager open the File menu by pressing <ALT> and <F>.
  111.  
  112. *       Select the option Run by pressing <R>.
  113.  
  114. *       When the the Run dialog box appears type A:\LUNAR-NTWIN and
  115.         press <ENTER>.  (LUNAR-NT will then start.)
  116.

  118. Using LUNAR-NT yourself:
  119.  
  120. Altering the Magnification
  121.  
  122. To increase the magnification in steps of 2x (up to a maximum of 8x):
  123.  
  124. *       Click on the Magnify button.
  125.         (or press <+> on the numeric keypad.)
  126.  
  127. To decrease the magnificationin steps of 2x (up to a minimum of 1x):
  128.  
  129. *       Click on the Reduce button.
  130.         (or press <-> on the numeric keypad.)
  131.  
  132. You can alter the magnification directly by pressing:
  133.  
  134. <CTRL> and <1>  for normal size
  135. <CTRL> and <2>  for 2x magnification
  136. <CTRL> and <4>  for 4x magnification
  137.  
  138. Overview
  139.  
  140. Clicking the middle mouse button gives you an Overview of the 'real' screen, so
  141. that you can see where you are on the 'real' screen and view ist layout.
  142. Any mouse click or key press takes you out of Overview mode.
  143.  
  144. Pointer Colour
  145.  
  146. This cycles the mouse pointer through a range of 9 colours.
  147.  
  148. Stay in Window
  149.  
  150. If this is selected LUNAR-NT places a restriction on the mouse pointer, so the
  151. display does not move away from the current window/dialog box.
  152.  
  153. Centring
  154.  
  155. If this is selected, then objects such as menus and small dialog boxes will be
  156. centred on the display (if they will fit).
  157.  
  158. Screen to Mouse
  159.  
  160. If Screen to Mouse is selected, the magnified display window will jump to
  161. the position of the mouse pointer.
  162.  
  163. Mouse to Screen
  164.  
  165. If Mouse to Screen is selected, then if the mouse pointer is not visible,
  166. the pointer is repositioned in the centre of the display.
  167.  
  168. Mouse to current option
  169.  
  170. If this is selected, then the mouse pointer will be moved automatically to the
  171. current focus, when you change the current focus from the keyboard.
  172.  
  173. Menu Margin
  174.  
  175. This affects how much of the menu (how many options) are displayed above and
  176. below the currently selected option.
  177.  
  178. Follow Everything
  179.  
  180. This enables LUNAR-NT to follow most drawing operations.
  181.  
  182. Follow Cursors
  183.  
  184. This follows any text entry cursor.
  185.  
  186. Follow Objects
  187.  
  188. This will follow highlighted text, such as the text under icons, or the file
  189. selection highlight in File Manager.  In some programs you will not want this
  190. on, as it may clash with Follow Cursors.
  191.  
  192. Changing LUNAR-NT's Hot Keys
  193.  
  194. Clicking on the Set Hot Keys button brings up a dialog box in which you can
  195. change LUNAR-NT's default hot keys.
  196.  
  197. Frames
  198.  
  199. LUNAR-NT has four scroll margins at the top, bottom, left and right hand side
  200. of the screen.  These four margins are collectively known as a frame.  LUNAR-NT
  201. has two types of frame: A Mouse Frame and Cursor Frame.  As soon as the
  202. mouse pointer or text entry cursor is moved into one a scroll margin LUNAR-NT
  203. will attempt to scroll the screen in the appropriate direction.  You can
  204. change the width of each of the scroll margins by clicking on the Mouse Frame
  205. or the Cursor Frame buttons.
  206.  
  207. Horizontal & Vertical Move
  208.  
  209. You can change the horizontal and vertical speed that LUNAR-NT scrolls by
  210. when it enters a scroll margin.
